Walking Football

Enjoy a slower, safer version of ‘the beautiful game’! Walking Football is booming in the UK - it has been growing in popularity since its inception in 2011, there are now hundreds of walking football clubs around the UK, brimming with members of varying ages and abilities, all eager to get their football fix.

Our Walking Football sessions are held on Tuesdays at The Castle Centre. You need no special equipment - however, we do recommend wearing comfortable sports clothing and trainers.

The session suits those wishing to stay physically active, particularly older people and those recovering from health conditions; but due to the format of Walking Football, it remains suitable and open to all, including males and females. Sessions begin with a gentle warm-up before moving into games so participants can channel their footballing dreams once again, whilst also being able to enjoy the camaraderie and social aspect the game brings.

Meeting point is the Café in the Castle Leisure Centre at 2 St Gabriel Walk, Elephant & Castle, SE1 6FG, from 1:30pm with the session starting from 2:00pm.

We hope to see you there! If you know of friends or family members who may be interested in trying Walking Football, please do help us spread the word.
