Online Walworth Book Club

Calling all readers! Creation has teamed up with the Walworth Society and a host of local authors to offer a weekly virtual book club. Self-isolation means there has never been a better time to get reading! Find out how you can be a part of it.


These book clubs take place on the online conference platform Zoom, which is free and easy to download. We have some free Kindle versions of all the books featured, to get your copy, email info@creationtrust.org and put 'Book Club' in the title. 

Week 1, Wednesday 8th, 8pm, Paul Clayton, The Punishment

 Actor/Author Paul Clayton (Peep Show & The Crown) in conversation about ‘The Punishment" hosted by Michael Holland, Arts Correspondent @Southwark_News

Week 2 Wednesday 15th, 8pm, Mark Baxter 'The Mumper' 

Local author Mark Baxter in conversation with actor Charlie Carter who was recently seen in the 35th anniversary Eastenders special episodes. The Mumper tells the story of seven drinking buddies, who decide to buy a racehorse and embark on the journey of a lifetime. The book inspired the film Outide Bet.

Week 3 Wednesday 22nd April, John Sutherland, Blue

John Sutherland, talks about his amazing book, Blue, a memoir of his time working as a police officer and then rising to Borough Commander of Southwark.  Described as  'a story of crime and calamity, of adventure and achievement, of friendship and failure, of laughter and loss, of the best and the worst of humanity, of serious illness and slow recovery. It offers an immensely moving and important insight into what it is to be a police officer in 21st-century Britain.'
