Kids in the Kitchen
Monday 9th November 2020
We are delighted to launch this brand new project 'Kids in the Kitchen'- each week families will receive a bag of ingredients and a video recipe to make together.
Over 20 families on the Aylesbury estate are taking part in the project. Each family will receive an initial bag of cooking utensils, then a weekly bag of ingredients. The video recipe is put together by the amazing chef Franco who prepares all the meals for the Burgess Sports holiday programmes.
‘Kids in the Kitchen’ will initially run for six weeks, but we are hoping to be able to extend the programme next year. Families will get the chance to make pizza, carrot cake and fresh pasta and everyone is invited to suggest recipe ideas of their own.
We are hoping that this project will give families the chance to do something together, for children to learn more about food and provide an opportunity for everyone to eat together. We know that it can be hard making time to do these kinds of things, especially when life is stressful. Already there is a real community feel to the project, with everyone sharing photos and videos and supporting each other.
We are grateful to the National Lottery and NHHG for funding this project. If you live on the Aylesbury estate and would like to be part of the project contact firstname.lastname@example.org
