Fareshares Food Co-op Needs You

Fareshares, in Elephant and Castle, is a self-organised, volunteer-run food co-op, supplying the local community with affordable vegan, (mostly) organic wholefoods on a not-for-profit basis.

Fareshares isn’t a formally registered co-op but we run like one: non-hierarchically, which means there's no one person or ‘boss’ in control and we try and work together using consensus-based decision making. We are ALWAYS short of volunteers and always need more help. That's where you come in: we want you to get involved.

There's no shortage of reasons to join us. You might want to promote veganism. You may be passionate about co-ops and people organising things for themselves. Perhaps you believe access to decent affordable food should be a right not a privilege. Maybe you want to gain retail experience in a friendly environment. Perhaps you want to apply your particular skills for the good of the community. Or you might want to meet new people.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Whatever your motivation, there's plenty to do. You can volunteer for a regular two-hour shift in the shop, or help out behind the scenes in various ways, ordering or unpacking stock, helping with admin.

Even if you can't commit to a regular shift you might want to be added to our list of people willing to help with occasional smaller tasks from helping with maintenance or spring cleaning, to updating price-lists, photocopying and delivering flyers etc.

Increasingly, we're encouraged to act like customers in every area of our lives. Fareshares is an alternative to that. Be part of something different. Sometimes it's even fun. Get involved!

If you can help, please contact us; info@fareshares.org.uk or https://www.fareshares.org.uk/

Or fill out the back of this flyer and drop it off at the shop; 56 Crampton St, London SE17 3AE
